Die Geduld und die Mühe haben sich gelohnt. Am 17.11.16 laden wir euch zu unserer Filmpremiere am Nordeuropa-Institut ein!
Wir freuen uns riesig euch das Ergebnis unseres Projekts, unserer Pilger- und Forschungsreise, bei der Premiere nun endlich präsentieren zu dürfen.
Anno 2013 machten wir uns auf, den Pilgerweg des hl. Olav vom Oslofjord nach Nidaros, dem heutigen Trondheim, zu wandern. Im Gepäck ein Zelt, eine Kamera und viele Fragen.
Der Olavsweg, der von Kirche zu Kirche, aber auch vorbei an vorchristlichen Grabhügeln führt, zeugt ebenso von der langen christlichen Historie des Landes, wie auch vom Erbe der alten Götterwelt der frühen Vikinger.
Auf welche Weise prägt dieses religiöse Erbe den persönlichen Bezug der Norweger*innen zu Glaube und Religion noch heute? Und welche Bedeutung haben Christentum und vorchristlicher Glaube für die Identität Norwegens?
Der Film stellt diese Fragen auch vor dem Hintergrund aktueller interkultureller Spannungen, dem erstarkenden Rechtspopulismus und den Anschlägen von Oslo und Utøya 2011. Er wagt einen kritischen Blick auf die Schnittmenge von Religion, Religionsgeschichte und nationalen Identitätskonstruktionen.
Auf dem Weg des modernen Pilgers treffen sich die Fragen nach kollektiven Identitäten, gesellschaftlicher Verortung und die ganz persönliche Suche nach dem eigenen Selbst. Der Film bildet den Pilgerweg als Raum dieser Begegnung ab und konstruiert einen Dialog zum bestehenden Diskurs zwischen Akteuren aus Wissenschaft, Religion, Kunst und Kultur.‘
Die Veranstaltung beginnt um 18:30 Uhr mit einer Begrüßung und der Filmvorführung. Es folgt eine Pause, in der für das leibliche Wohl gesorgt sein wird. Eine anschließende Diskussions- und Fragerunde bietet Platz sowohl für die inhaltliche Reflektion des Films, als auch für persönliche Fragen an die Projektgruppe.

The time has come! All the patience and effort finally pay off. We invite you to our movie premiere on November 17 at Humboldt university’s Nordeuropa-Institut!
We are beyond excited to present you the results of our pilgrimage and research trip at the movie premiere.
In 2013 we embarked on the St. Olav’s Way. Equipped with cameras, tents, and many questions in mind, we followed the way from the Oslofjord to Nidaros, today’s Trondheim.
The St. Olav’s Way leads from church to church but also past pre-Christian grave mounds. Therefore it is witness to both, Norway’s long Christian history as well as the old gods of the Vikings.
What role do Christianity and pre-Christian belief play for Norwegian identity? How does the country’s religious heritage influence the way Norwegians view belief and religion today?
The movie addresses these questions also against the backdrop of current intercultural tensions, the rising right-wing populism, and the 2011 attacks in Oslo and Utøya. In this context the movie casts a critical lense on the intersections of religion, religous history and the construction of national identities.
The path of the modern pilgrim crosses questions about collective identities, societal positioning, and a personal quest for the true self. In the movie, the pilgrims‘ way is portrayed as a space for these encounters. The film further constructs a dialogue between agents from the sciences, religion, art, and culture.
The event starts at 6:30 pm with an introduction and the film screening, followed by a buffet break. A subsequent discussion and Q&A will leave time for open questions and contemplation.
